The formula behind every price

The total is (the system rate + the slab surcharge) × the square feet, plus flat options. The calculator on the home page uses exactly this arithmetic for a garage, and so do the worked examples.

System Per sq ft, installed
Solid color epoxy $4–$7
Flake (chip) epoxy $6–$9
Polyaspartic flake $8–$12
Metallic epoxy $9–$13

Where the numbers come from

No East Bay price list exists, so the Antioch band starts from California guides: solid color around $3–$8, chip and flake $5–$9, metallic $8–$12 and up, polyaspartic $6–$12, and notes in several that Bay Area contractors charge more than the Central Valley. A third-party estimate for Antioch epoxy garage floors is $6–$10. The bands here are rounded inside those figures.

Size changes the total, not much else

Garage Area Flake epoxy Polyaspartic flake
1-car about 240 sq ft $1,440–$2,160 $1,920–$2,880
2-car about 420 sq ft $2,520–$3,780 $3,360–$5,040
3-car about 704 sq ft $4,224–$6,336 $5,632–$8,448

Typical garage dimensions come from published averages: about 240 square feet for one car, between 360 and 480 for two and about 704 for three.

What the slab adds

Slab condition Added per sq ft
Sound slab $0
Minor cracks, pits or spalls $1–$2
Old coating or paint to remove $2–$6
Heavy oil or a soft, uneven slab $1–$2.50

On a 420 square foot flake floor, an old coating adds roughly $840–$2,520. The slab is where most bids drift apart.

Options, one by one

Extra crack repair runs about $50–$200 per area. A moisture-vapor barrier primer adds roughly $400–$1,000 for a typical garage. A stem wall, garage steps, a custom flake blend and moving the contents are smaller flat lines. A bid that rolls all of these into one number cannot be compared with one that lists them. These are market estimates, not quotes.

Step 1 Range —
    Which floor is it?

Garage at home, or a warehouse, kitchen, shop, showroom, gym or clinic floor.

    How big is the garage?

Typical: a 2-car garage, about 420 square feet here.

Measure wall to wall; length × width in feet gives the square feet.

    Which coating system?

Typical: flake (chip) epoxy, the system most price guides list first.

What shape is the slab in? pick all that apply

Typical: a sound slab with hairline cracks only.

    Anything extra? optional

Skip if none apply; a moisture primer only follows a moisture test.

    What kind of business floor?

Pick the room that carries the most traffic.

How big is the area to coat?

Length × width in feet, or the square feet. Typical: 2,000 sq ft.

    Which floor system?

Typical for dry storage and bays: solid color epoxy with grit.

What shape is the slab in? pick all that apply

    Typical: a sound slab.

When can the work happen? optional

Typical: after hours or on a weekend. No price change.

    Anything extra? optional

Skip if none apply; coved base is typical for kitchens and clinics.

    Notes and photos optional

Optional: a short note or a photo of the floor.
